Jonathan is a member of several All Party Parliamentary Groups covering a range of issues
• Insurance and Financial Services – founded in 1991 following an initiative by Post Magazine to improve communication between the insurance industry and Parliament. Jonathan was elected the group’s chairman in summer 2010.
• Classical Music – promoting and supporting young musicians
• Occupational Pensions - To develop and encourage occupational pension schemes in the UK
• Building Societies and Mutuals – supporting and discussing the work of building societies and financial mutuals. Jonathan is joint Chairman.
• Hepatology - To promote discussion of hepatology, including viral hepatitis and related public health issues, and to raise matters of concern with, and make representations to, government and other policy makers.
• Extraordinary Rendition - Examining extraordinary rendition and related issues, in response to allegations of British involvement in the extraordinary rendition programme.
• Autism - raising awareness of autism in Parliament, campaigning and lobbying for increased awareness and improving support for people with autism and their carers.
• Disability - To work on an all-party basis within parliament for the interests of all disabled people, their families and friends.
